About me: 

Hana Alireza is a wearer of many hats, a tireless cheerleader and problem solver.  She also finds writing about herself in third person pretentious and weird.

Originally from Jeddah, I’ve been calling sunny Beirut, home since 2003.  Right now I’m working on a new business, which is all about making a fresh start towards healthy living, but more on that later. When I’m not event-planning, writing or fundraising, I’m giggling with my kids, obsessing about good food, and trying to get acquainted with my alter ego. In past lives (professionally, not spiritually) I attended boarding school in the UK and then earned degrees from Brown and Oxford.  I experienced the Internet boom in New York City in the 90s as a producer at Organic, Inc,  I co-founded Bayt.com, a leading online recruitment company in the Middle East, I even produced a documentary called Seeds! Since getting married and moving to Beirut, I’ve worked on renovating a museum , taken a break from full-time work to be home with our two  kids (now 3, and working again! This blog needs a major update) , and helped to build a non-profit .

Is there a method to my type-A madness? Maybe. If a project is new, exciting and gives me a chance grow and do some good, I will dive in headlong. I am the friend who gets just as excited about your new job as you do, the one who shrieks into the phone when you call me with good news, the one who insists that you meet my {insert description} friend because you two would rule the world with your ideas.
